Medical Qigong is one of the Four Branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Practitioners of Medical Qigong Therapy first train to enhance their own life-force energy (Qi), and later learn to sense and directly influence the Qi of another person, in order to bring about a state of health and vitality.
The principle underlying the teachings is the Dao (the natural Way of the Universe), the Theory of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements, and the relationship of Heaven, Earth, and Man. We hope that through these teachings, we can support and inspire our students and patients to live in harmony with their True Nature, and utilize their talents to maintain balance in their lives.
Medical knowledge exists in order to alleviate the pains of humanity, whether physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual. While the principle purpose is to enable students to obtain the academic and clinical knowledge to be a successful practitioner of Chinese Energetic Medicine, it does not stop there. The curriculum encourages the philosophy that through the healing of oneself, one can understand how to heal others. The emphasis is placed on the cultivation of one’s True Self and the comprehension of human nature.
This certification program includes Daoist Medical Neigong (Internal Skill), Qigong (Energy Skill), and Shengong (Spirit Skill) trainings.
Medical Qigong Practitioner (MQP) Certification Program (200hrs) – divided into 5 modules
Medical Qigong is a complete system of medicine that recognizes the root causes of a disease and treats the patient as a whole. As with all the branches of Chinese Medicine (Medical Qigong, Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, & Tuina Massage), healing occurs through balancing Qi or electromagnetic energy which surrounds and pervades all living beings.
The goal of the Medical Qigong Practitioner is to correct these bio-energetic imbalances and blockages. This allows the body to strengthen the internal organs, the nervous system and the immune system, relieve pain, regulate hormones, and release deep-seated emotions and stress.
By mastering the skills to affect the different levels of the energetic world, we create a powerful ability to heal many diseases.
The Medical Qigong Practitioner (MQP) training is a certification program designed to teach the application of Medical Qigong Therapy through academic learning and hands-on experiential training.
Students will learn both personal cultivation and the clinical applications of Chinese Energetic Medicine.
Program Overview
As Qi is something that needs to felt on an experiential level, we emphasize individualized personal instruction that offers students a hands-on approach, allowing the energy to be felt through and be embodied into an experience.
We learn the analytic as well as an intuitive approach to reading and treating the energy body so that we may take this information and build our own personal encyclopedia of the human energy system that could be applied to anything we do.
The experiential aspects of the course are well balanced with a solid theoretical foundation. Training in the ancient and subtle energetic wisdom of Chinese Medicine, we learn skills of diagnosis and treatment by experiencing different exercises, meditations, and hands on instruction.
